Seadragons are
found only in Australia. They are found among kelp forests and
seaweeds, not below 20m depth. Seadragons are a very unique
member of the seahorse family. They have leafy appendages that
highly resemble the seagrass in the wild…it’s for a slight change
in color, a sway of the fins, they are camouflaged and completely
‘disappear’ into their natural surroundings. |
The
Armored Knight
Seahorse is usually found in sea grass beds, among mangrove
roots and corals. There are about 35 species of seahorses
around the world. Thailand has at least 4 species of them;
Spotted seahorse, Thorny seahorse, Three-spot seahorse and
Pigmy seahorse. Seahorses have scale plates, tough and hard,
covering their entire bodies like the valiant knights’ armor.

The
Sword Warrior
The razorfish has a weird behavior. It swims in a vertical position
with the snout pointing downwards. It often seeks protection
among the spines of the sea urchins. With a highly compressed
body covered with bony plates, exactly like a mighty sword,
it will turn its sharp end against any danger, like a warrior
raising his sword to the enemy.
The Archer
There are over 200 different species of pipefishes in the
world. As pipefish is rather small and always hidden by seagrass
or rubbles, it is difficult to observe in the wild, even by
a keen diver. Slender in body shape and some even with tails
resembling feathers on an arrow’s end…the pipefish is the
mysterious Archer.
The Winged Knight
Sea moth is found in temperate and tropical zone throughout
the Indo-Pacific. It favors sand or silt bottoms, in bays
and estuaries. Blessed with an armored body and fins like
wings of the bat, our Winged Knight roams the vast seas.
